The first meeting of the Air Quality Task Force will be held on Friday, January 30, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District, 850 Barret Avenue, Louisville, 40204. The Air Quality Task Force was created by Mayor Jerry Abramson on December 4, 2003, to help develop a long-term strategy to improve the Louisville Metro community's air quality. (See the December 4 press release.) The Air Quality Task Force will first focus on developing recommended measures to meet the new, more stringent, federal standards for ozone and fine particulates. (See the January 16 press release.) Bruce Traughber, secretary of the Cabinet for Community Development, will chair the Air Quality Task Force.
