Ozone Action Day
Friday, August 2

 

The air quality forecast for Friday, August 2, is that GROUND-LEVEL OZONE will be in the unhealthy range, with the Air Quality Index reaching 172.  Active children and adults, as well as people with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, should limit prolonged outdoor activity and physical exertion.  Ozone levels generally peak during late afternoon and early evening hours.  The Air Pollution Control District and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management have issued this HEALTH WARNING for Friday

Friday’s forecast marks the highest ozone level predicted for the 2002 ozone season to date. Ozone levels are expected to remain high through the weekend.
