Louisville and Jefferson County

Louisville bicyclists will participate in National Bicycle to Work Week this year with group rides to workplaces downtown on Thursday morning May 23. One group of bicyclists, led by Cheryl Brawner and Sheila Andersen, will depart from Mid-City Mall (on the Baxter Ave. side) at 8 AM sharp. A second group, led by Barry Zalph and Geoffrey Hobin, will depart from Clifton Center (Clifton Ave. and Payne St., just south of Frankfort Ave.) at 8 AM sharp. To join us, please arrive at the meeting place a few minutes before 8 AM.
We will follow low-traffic routes downtown to City Hall and the County Courthouse. We can escort riders to other nearby locations if desired. These rides are not races. We especially invite participants who have rarely or never bicycled to work. We expect all riders to follow all traffic laws, including stopping at stop signs and red lights! We hope to contribute to the growing awareness of bicycling as a practical and enjoyable means of commuting and running errands.
